About us
INIS started in the summer of 2006. We are a support group for people with DSD (Disorder of Sex Development).
INIS was formed as a formal association on the first of May, 2008, in Stockholm.
According to our regulations, the purposes and aims of INIS are:
- INIS is a non-political, non-religious, and non-profit organization.
- INIS aim is to give a medically correct knowledge and life experience about DSD to raise the awareness and understanding of what it is to grow up with DSD.
- INIS will work as a support group in order to counteract the feeling of shame and guilt for all people with DSD.
- INIS will engage in the Swedish legislation and medical praxis for people with DSD to make sure it is in accordance with, and what one could assume is in the interest of, the DSD person in question, and that the health care provide support to people with DSD.
- INIS will encourage that parents to children with DSD receive the support they need to make the right decision for their child, and in turn give the child the support it needs during its childhood.
